Assistance Dogs NI is a unique charity based in Limavady BT49 0DB. We provide Autism and Disability Assistance Dogs along with Facility Dogs in schools and a Trust facility. The funding would be used to purchase items of equipment ADNI requires in order to showcase the services that we provide highlighting the differences our services make to individuals, their parents/carers and teachers. ADNI is the best kept secret in NI, in order to move the charity forward we need to make ourselves known throughout NI.
Bovalley Community Association (BCA) is a volunteer-led Community group, charity based in Limavady. Established to promote rural regeneration, the BCA focuses on relieving poverty, supporting the elderly and youth, and enhancing public health and education in the Bovalley area. The funding will be used to deliver a Good Relations event aimed at promoting inclusion, mutual respect, and cultural understanding among residents in the Bovalley area.
Craft Collective is a community craft group based in Limavady for local residents to come along and get and take part in various types of crafting. Based in Aghanloo, Limavady for almost ten years, Craft Collective is volunteer-led, hosting weekly classes of sewing, quilting, crocheting, dressmaking and various themed workshops monthly, these are open to all our local community.
Top three tips from the organisers
Feedback from the groups proved the PB event a success as they stated the benefits of networking and getting to know the other community groups in their locality and plan for the future.
Groups felt the voting was fair and all groups got their chance to promote their own individual needs. Having fewer people attend the voting night enabled groups to mingle and chat with others in the venue.
Encouragement of volunteer engagement and contribution to the voting system as numbers were limited to five per group. They felt that they contributed in obtaining the funding. This gave them valuable learning and understanding on the importance of funding and a major player in obtaining the funding.
