Ideas must be of benefit to the people and environment on Rathlin Island

Safe, legal, feasible and able to complete within one year

Equipment for maintenance of Island’s graveyard;

Recycling glass into beautiful artefacts for local/tourism market;

Training in cold water swimming and related personal safety;

Carving tree trunk (drift wood) with images of boats in Island’s history, incorporating current children of the island;

Beach storage box for shared beach toys for local/visitor use;

Project using wool from Rathlin sheep in creative knitting/quilt making

Basic maintenance of local pier in family (non-Council) ownership

1. Designed using local, and locally available money.
2. Organising team from within community, including all MC responsibilities for event.
3. Presented as significant step in development and support of local democracy, with goal of presenting evidence to strengthen model for adoption elsewhere.
